Shipping & Handling

Where do you ship?

We currently ship within the United States only.  We do not offer international shipping at this time.  Orders are dispatched via USPS, FedEx, or UPS depending on the piece and destination, and every order ships fully insured.  If you have questions about a specific delivery location, please contact us.

How long does shipping take?

Free insured shipping is included on every order.  Orders under $1,000 ship via USPS Priority Mail (2–3 business days), with an optional upgrade to USPS Priority Mail Express (1–2 business days) for $35.  Orders of $1,000 or more ship via USPS Priority Mail Express at no additional charge.  Overnight FedEx is also available at checkout for an additional fee.  Any ring sizing or other customization adds 1–2 business days to fulfillment.  Full timelines are detailed on our Shipping & Handling page.

Is my shipment insured?

Yes.  Every order ships fully insured at no charge via USPS, FedEx, or UPS.  For full details on carriers, transit times, and handling, see our Shipping & Handling page.

Returns & Exchanges

What is your return policy?

Online purchases may be returned for a full refund within 30 days from the date of delivery, provided the item is in brand new, unworn, original condition with all original packaging, paperwork, and certification, and a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number has been issued by our team.  Round-trip insured shipping, sizing or customization charges, and certification replacement fees are non-refundable and will be deducted from the refund.  For full eligibility requirements and instructions on how to initiate a return, please review our Return & Exchange Policy.

Can I exchange an item for a different style or size?

Exchanges are available on eligible items in unworn, original condition within our return window.  This applies to ring size exchanges as well as exchanges for a different style of equal or greater value.  Visit our Return & Exchange Policy page or contact us to start the process.

Are custom or special-order items returnable?

Personalized, custom, engraved, and special-order pieces are not eligible for return.  Our team will confirm this before your order is placed.  See our Return & Exchange Policy for full terms.

Warranty & Lifetime Upgrades

What does the Limited Lifetime Warranty cover?

Our Limited Lifetime Warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for as long as the original purchaser owns the piece.

If a covered defect is found on inspection, we repair the piece at no cost; if a repair is not possible, we may replace the piece with a similar item or issue a merchandise credit at our discretion.  Complimentary cleaning, inspection, and prong tightening are also available to the original purchaser.

The warranty does not cover lost or chipped diamonds or gemstones, normal wear and tear, damage from misuse or exposure to chemicals or extreme conditions, loss, theft, or unauthorized repairs performed by another jeweler.  For the full scope of coverage, exclusions, and the claim process, see our warranty page.

What is the Lifetime Upgrade Program?

Our Lifetime Upgrade Program applies to diamond engagement rings purchased from Jewelry Depot.  The original purchaser may return with the original receipt for full credit on the original purchase, applied toward any item of greater value, online or in-store.  The program is non-transferable.  See the Lifetime Upgrades page for full terms.

What is The Jewelry Depot Guarantee?

The Jewelry Depot Guarantee summarizes our commitments to you across five pillars: lifetime warranty, lifetime upgrades, free insured shipping, 30-day hassle-free returns, and flexible financing.  See the Guarantee page for the full overview.

Ring Sizing

How do I find my ring size?

For an accurate measurement, visit our dedicated Find Your Ring Size page to order a free plastic ring sizer, which typically arrives in 2–3 business days.  You can also print our Ring Sizing Guide from the same page for immediate at-home measurements.

Why are there extra charges for sizing?

Ring resizing requires skilled labor, specialized tools, and additional precious metal material.  The cost varies depending on the complexity of the resize (going up vs. going down), the metal type (platinum is more labor-intensive than gold), and the ring’s design.  Styles such as eternity bands, tension settings, and rings with stones set all the way around may have limited or no resizing options.  Our team will advise you before purchase.  Please contact us for a sizing quote.

Can I exchange my ring for a different size after purchase?

If your ring is unworn and in original condition, exchanges for a different size are eligible within our return window.  Sizing charges are non-refundable.  Please review our Return & Exchange Policy for full details.

Custom Jewelry & Repairs

Do you offer custom jewelry design?

Yes.  We design and build one-of-a-kind pieces, from custom engagement rings to personalized pendants, bridal sets, and family heirloom remounts.  The process typically begins with a design consultation, followed by a CAD rendering for your approval, and then fabrication by our master jeweler.  Timelines and pricing depend on the piece and the materials selected.  Contact us to get started.

Do you offer jewelry repairs?

Yes.  We handle any type of fine jewelry repair, including ring sizing, prong re-tipping, stone resetting, clasp replacement, chain repair, soldering, and polishing.  We also offer watch and clock repair services.  For a repair estimate, please contact us.

Make an Offer

How does the “Make an Offer” feature work?

On select products, you will see a Make an Offer button.  Enter the price you would like to pay and submit your offer.  Our team reviews all offers and will respond via email.  Accepted offers will be sent a custom checkout link to complete your purchase at the agreed price.

Are all offers accepted?

Not all offers can be accepted.  If your offer is declined, you are welcome to submit a revised offer or purchase at the listed price.

Diamond & Gemstone Education

Where can I learn more about diamonds and gemstones?

Selecting a fine diamond or color gemstone is generally guided by the 4Cs — Cut, Color, Clarity, and Carat weight — together with the laboratory grading report, if any, accompanying the stone.  Our Diamond and Gemstone Grading page explains how we grade diamonds and color gemstones, the certifying laboratories whose reports we reference, and important notes on carat weight, imagery, and scale.  For questions about a specific piece in our inventory, please contact us.

Why should I purchase a certified diamond?

A certified diamond has been independently graded by a recognized gemological laboratory, providing an objective third-party assessment of the stone’s Cut, Color, Clarity, and Carat weight.  An independent report protects your investment, confirms the stone’s quality matches what is represented at the point of sale, and tends to support stronger insurance valuation and resale outcomes later in the stone’s life.

What certifying bodies do you work with?

We carry diamonds and color gemstones certified by the following laboratories:

  • GIA (Gemological Institute of America) — the global standard in diamond grading, founded in 1931
  • AGS (American Gem Society) — known for precise, science-based cut grading
  • IGI (International Gemological Institute) — widely used for lab-grown diamonds and fine jewelry
  • EGL USA (European Gemological Laboratory USA) — accepted on select pieces

Certification details, when applicable, are listed on each product page.  Questions?  Contact us anytime.
