From the height of the Roman Empire, this authentic, 1,800-year-old hand-struck, Alexandrian bronze coin celebrates the Emperor Marcus Aurelius (AD 161-180). Aurelius’ private journal, Meditations—which guides leaders, athletes, and scholars to this day—is the world’s single most-read work of ancient philosophy. This 14kt yellow gold ring features an ancient Roman bronze coin bezel-set with two natural, earth-mined Round Brilliant Cut Diamonds (0.16 carats total), all ethically sourced.
Aurelius is portrayed in right-facing laureate profile, with curled hair and a full beard rendered in clear relief, almost two millennia after the coin was minted in an Eastern provincial city, under his rule. The Diamonds are Colorless and Nearly Flawless with Excellent Cut, gracefully positioned on either side to amplify the coin’s historical significance with brilliant sparkle.
