The Story
Golden amber sits above a deep violet, and that boundary formed underground. This ametrine and diamond ring carries a 3.50 carat emerald cut ametrine in 14k white gold, with round brilliant cut diamonds fanned out on either side of the stone. The diamonds throw brilliance as your hand moves, and both halves of the ametrine glow at once.
AAAAA is the top of the scale for a colored stone, and it is awarded on hue and saturation before anything else: this ametrine is rich and even from end to end, transparent throughout, and precisely cut. Ametrine is quartz that grew amethyst and citrine in one crystal, and a single deposit in Bolivia accounts for essentially all of it. The emerald cut is the right choice for material like this: its long, open face holds the division between the two halves as one straight line. The diamonds of this ametrine and diamond ring grade G color—near-colorless, and they fan out on each side of the stone. At 3.80 carats in total, this ametrine and diamond ring holds nearly all of that weight in the center stone, and that is what gives both colors room to show. The ametrine is natural and earth-mined, as is every diamond around it. Each and every piece at Jewelry Depot is one-of-a-kind. Once it’s gone, it’s gone forever.
This piece is one of our unique colored gemstone rings, and no second ametrine will carry this exact division. Worn, it works as two stones at once—warm across the top, cool underneath—and which end catches your eye changes as your wrist turns. It is a great deal of color for one finger, and you will look magnificent wearing it.
