The Story
This ring is a ravishing survival of the Edwardian period, over a century old. The star ruby and diamond ring holds a deep purple-red cabochon at its center, and a six-ray star crosses the dome as your hand turns. GIA examined the stone and found it unheated.
Eighteen carats of ruby stand in the dome of this star ruby and diamond ring, cut as a double cabochon so the purple-red carries all the way through the stone. An unheated ruby at this size is a genuine rarity. Ruby is July’s birthstone, and early cultures believed it carried the power of life. Old European cut diamonds and old single cut diamonds fill the milgrained openwork platinum of this star ruby and diamond ring, every one F color and VVS2 clarity—colorless and nearly flawless. A change of angle brings a fresh set of those diamonds forward at once and from more than one direction, while the ruby glows even and saturated across its whole face. The ruby is natural and earth-mined, as is every diamond around it. Each and every piece at Jewelry Depot is one-of-a-kind. Once it’s gone, it’s gone forever.
This antique ring is a statement piece, and the day you put it on is yours to pick. Eighteen carats of ruby stand high off your finger, and a hundred and more years on, the star still travels as you move. You will love how it looks on.
