The Story

White fire throws from the Old European Brilliant Cut diamond at the center of this authentic Art Deco ring—a 1.00-carat stone whose high crown and small table return light in the broad candlelit flashes that define a hand-cut antique diamond.

Set in platinum with a squared box head and four-prong center setting, the diamond is flanked by 0.16 carats of H-color, VS2-clarity baguette and single cut diamonds arranged in tapered stepped pyramids on either shoulder—a signature Art Deco architecture of stacked baguettes capped with single cut accents, supported by a pierced openwork gallery visible in profile.  Each accent stone is near-colorless and eye-clean, matched in grade to the center, the kind of hand selection characteristic of bench-made platinum jewelry from the 1920s and 1930s.  Every stone is natural and earth-mined, and this is a one-of-a-kind piece—the only one we will ever carry.  Once it is gone, it is gone forever.

Whether it marks an engagement, an anniversary, an inheritance carried forward, or a purchase made entirely for oneself, this is a ring that throws broad flashes of candlelit fire from the Old European center—and rewards a closer look with the small stepped architecture of its Art Deco shoulders.

Diamond & Gemstone Grading

All gemstone carat weights (CTW), if mentioned, are approximate if said gemstones have not been weighed before mounting, i.e., weighed as a loose stone.

All Diamond and Color Gemstone grades, unless otherwise indicated, are based upon the results of the examination and grading of the article(s) based upon the application of the system and testing equipment used by Jewelry Depot at the time the article(s) is (are) examined.  Diamond and Color Gemstone grading is not considered a science, and opinions may reasonably vary depending on many conditions such as lighting, grading techniques, type and condition of equipment, and/or the ability and experience of the person or people performing the examination and issuing the gradings.
