The Story

From the bold, glamorous heyday of the 1940s comes this ravishing ruby and diamond ring—a wearable work of art, some eighty years old, sumptuous and richly saturated.

An old European cut diamond is collet-set in white gold at the heart of the mounting, while an arc of rubies curves around it, bead-set in warm 14k rose gold and graded AAAA overall—the top grade across color, clarity, and cut.  Opposite them, a milgrained white gold crescent carries antique old single cut diamonds—F color, VS1 clarity, colorless and near flawless—while ribbons of rose gold close the composition.  Made while the war denied platinum to the jewelry trade, this is a genuine survival of American craftsmanship.  All stones are natural and earth-mined.  Each and every piece at Jewelry Depot is one-of-a-kind.  Once it's gone, it's gone forever.

The rubies still burn red against the rose gold, and the old European cut throws its slow, heavy fire.  Workmanship of a vanished decade, worn on the hand every day rather than kept behind glass—just the way its craftsman intended.
