The Story
This vintage sapphire and diamond bypass ring answers twice as your hand turns—deep blue from four sapphires, a bright flash from the diamond they frame. Every one of them is a round brilliant cut, and they sit tight against each other. The two ends of the band pass one another instead of joining, which jewelers call a bypass.
The sapphires grade AAAA, one of the highest grades on the grading scale, and those letters cover color, clarity and cut together. Each sapphire is cut as a round brilliant and sits at its own tilt in the cluster, so they meet the light at different moments. The diamond at the middle is G, near-colorless, and the band of this sapphire and diamond bypass ring is 14k white gold, tapering to a point at either end. Four stones of one deep shade give this sapphire and diamond bypass ring a broad face of blue across the top of the finger. Every stone here is natural and earth-mined, and sapphire is September’s birthstone, long held to stand for royal nobility and sound judgment. Each and every piece at Jewelry Depot is one-of-a-kind. Once it’s gone, it’s gone forever.
The band crossing under the stones makes it one of our unique vintage rings. From a few feet away the color runs together into one field on your finger, and closer in it separates into five. You can put it on any day of the week for no better reason than wanting to.
