The Story
From the romantic twilight of the Victorian age comes this ravishing yellow gold and ruby ring—a wearable work of art carved by hand, over a century old, and altogether sublime in its preserved condition.
The oval ruby is prong-set at the center of the mounting, a cool and saturated red, and no two of the claws that hold it are quite alike. A sculpted wreath of beaded 14k yellow gold surrounds the stone and stands off from it, leaving a thin gap of daylight all around. The shoulders split into scrolled openwork on either side, curling out to rounded terminals before the band runs smooth to the back. Inside the ring, beside the karat, sits the goldsmith's own mark. The ruby is natural and earth-mined. Each and every piece at Jewelry Depot is one-of-a-kind. Once it's gone, it's gone forever.
