The Story
Twelve diamonds stand at the tips of slender gold rays, and this diamond pendant necklace comes alight point by point as you move. Each stone is set on its own, well clear of the next, so they flash in sequence rather than all together. The workmanship is ravishing.
Every stone grades D color and VVS1 in clarity—colorless, with no tint to add, and nearly flawless, with nothing to get in the way. A full carat at that level is an extraordinary amount of quality for a diamond pendant necklace. The bail carries its own line of stones, so the sparkle starts at the top. Below it hangs a cluster of seven—a round brilliant ringed by six—set tight enough to flash as one point. Beneath that, the scalloped frame is traced in a continuous run of pavé that follows all five curves and comes alight stone by stone as the angle changes. The rays fan out from a circle of stones at the center, each reaching a different distance so the sparks scatter across the whole opening. Natural, earth-mined stones throughout, and diamond is April’s birthstone. The mounting is 18k white gold.
