The Story
Brilliance comes up out of the polished gold as you turn your wrist. This tanzanite and diamond ring sets ten diamonds flush into 18k rose gold, level with the surface, around a pear brilliant cut tanzanite in a saturated violet-blue. The tanzanite is 2.6 carats, and the ring carries 2.90 in all.
The tanzanite is AAAAA, the top of the grading scale, which on a colored gemstone means saturation carried full and even through the whole stone, high transparency, and a precise cut. Tanzanite comes out of a single deposit in Tanzania and nowhere else on earth, so the center of this tanzanite and diamond ring is genuinely scarce material. The violet-blue runs right out to the point, and it moves toward plum through the middle of the stone as the angle changes. Ten excellent-cut round brilliant diamonds are flush-set into the shoulders of this tanzanite and diamond ring, one a broad swell of gold and the other divided into twin ribs by a groove. They are F color and VVS2 clarity—colorless and nearly flawless—and every diamond here is natural and earth-mined, as is the tanzanite. Each and every piece at Jewelry Depot is one-of-a-kind. Once it’s gone, it’s gone forever.
Tanzanite is December’s birthstone, the stone tied to tremendous good fortune and success. The diamonds send up separate points of light from the rose gold as you reach through the day, and the tanzanite carries its color through every angle your hand takes. It shows from across a room, and it is better still up close.
