The Story
Red first, and in any light. This ruby and diamond ring in 14k white gold is built around a single intensely vivid crimson, and the rest of the ring is white throughout, so that color reaches the eye ahead of anything else. Striking at a distance, and richer still up close: vintage and over a quarter-century old.
A 1.08 carat ruby is raised clear of the band and cut as a round brilliant, the scarlet holding from every angle the hand turns. A polished arc rises on either side and bends inward to frame it, a channel of three round diamonds behind each. Six tapered baguettes, three to a side, lie across the width of the band, so this ruby and diamond ring flashes in broad strokes while the accents throw fine points of brilliance. At 1 ⅞ carats total, more than half the weight of this ruby and diamond ring sits in the ruby itself, grading AAAA overall—the top grade for color, clarity, and cut combined—while the diamonds run D color, VVS1 clarity, colorless and nearly flawless, every stone natural and earth-mined. Each and every piece at Jewelry Depot is one-of-a-kind. Once it’s gone, it’s gone forever.
Ruby is July’s birthstone, and this is one you will wear rather than store. Put it on tomorrow and you will be looking at it next year and the year after, the ruby riding high above the diamond banks that flank it, blazing every time your hand moves.
