The Story
Out of the Art Deco period comes this sapphire and diamond pendant, an openwork shield of white gold, a century old. Its four round diamonds sit wide apart, so the brilliance reaches you from four directions at once and changes with every turn you make. The milgrain, the scrollwork and the squared panels are magnificent Art Deco work.
The sapphire is a baguette cut, and AAAA is one of the highest grades on a scale that weighs hue, saturation and tone ahead of everything else. The stone carries a deep midnight blue, rich and saturated from one end to the other. Every diamond in this sapphire and diamond pendant is F color and VVS2 clarity—colorless and nearly flawless—and all four are set into 18k white gold. Natural, earth-mined stones throughout. This magnificent sapphire and diamond pendant is suspended from an 18-inch Italian Spiga wheat chain—four strands of twisted links braided for strength with the supple feel of silk.
